With only 200 miles left on our 3-week camping journey, we experienced serious engine complications as we were leaving Navarre, FL. On-Star connected us with the David Scott Lee Buick GMC for diagnostics and possibly repair. It was Saturday, and the service dept was limited to oil changes. Uriel Baza made an exception and pressed his team to investigate. As we waited for the maintenance technicians to finish, we perused the inventory. We were approached by a very courteous salesman, Chris Cathey, who inquired about what brought us into the dealership. We immediately established rapport as we shared the story of our camping journey which, to that point, was flawless. Chris, himself a camper, offered suggestions for other destinations. My wife casually inquired about the trade-in value of our GMC Canyon, never intending on a trade. Chris asked what we would like if we were to trade. I told him we had been there four hours and I had taken inventory and they did not have my Sierra At4. Chris and Nick said they did have that vehicle and it was in the PDI stage for someone else, but they bought a different vehicle the day before. As they rolled it around, I knew we were about to talk numbers. Chris did an exceptional job establishing a relationship instead of a sales pitch. The comfort level with him eased our mind regarding the trading in our 9 month old truck for a new purchase. With the help of Jose, the deal was consummated. We had to get inventive since we were traveling with only credit cards. Jose was masterful in solving the issue. From the employee making coffee for us, to the mechanic taking time and testing of our Canyon before we were scheduled to leave, we encountered gracious and understanding support from the team making us feel comfortable. Never intending on trading, we drove away in the most unexpected and 100% satisfied feeling. New truck and new friends.
I arrived early for my appointment, but was greeted and processed to have my truck serviced. The job was completed quickly and truck was returned washed and ready to go.
The evap control system on this truck has created quite the challenge to identify and repair. Craig and the service department have worked hard to correct the issue while being friendly and offering the best experience possible given the problematic issue.
Words cannot describe the serviced I received. My situation was complicated and the DSL Team came thru with flying colors. Nothing but "outstanding" comes to mind. Cameron is the go to guy. Very professional and knowledgeable in the product he sells. Cannot forget another hero, Tony, Sales Director. He is definitely in his element. I hope the leadership understands, that people like I described is the backbone of the organization. I also would like to recognize Jose in finance and Ryan in service. Thank you for your dedication and professional service you provided. One finial note, the We Care Team needs some tweaking. I highly encourage leadership to review their process and make sure the goals and objectives are being measured correctly.
