What Exactly is CrabWalk Mode?

CrabWalk Mode is a cutting-edge 4-wheel steering system. Typically, only the front wheels steer the vehicle. In CrabWalk Mode, the rear wheels turn as well, aligning with the front wheels by up to 10 degrees. This allows the HUMMER EV to move diagonally, a feature that’s both unique and practical.

Imagine effortlessly sliding into a parallel parking spot or navigating tight trails with ease. CrabWalk Mode makes this a reality. It’s perfect for getting in and out of tight spaces, whether you’re off-roading or navigating narrow city streets. Activating CrabWalk Mode

Using CrabWalk Mode is simple, but there are a few conditions to keep in mind. Make sure you’re driving below 1.2 mph (crawl speed), the steering wheel is centered, and Super Cruise is off. Then, follow these steps to activate CrabWalk Mode on your equipped HUMMER EV:

1. Engage 4-Wheel Steering: Press and hold the 4-Wheel Steering button on the Driver Mode Control Dial until the infotainment screen indicates CrabWalk is ready.
2. Confirmation: An animation will appear on the infotainment screen when CrabWalk is activated.
3. HD Surround Vision: This feature will turn on to display your surroundings, allowing you to maneuver up to 20 mph while CrabWalk Mode is active.

To deactivate CrabWalk, simply press the 4-Wheel Steering button again.
