In 2017, Buick updated the Encore’s looks inside and out. The 2017 year model was also the first Encore to come with smartphone connectivity as a standard feature, offering both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The new interior sports high-quality surfaces and artful styling. The supportive seating promotes comfort and relaxed posture even over long drives, and the Encore presents plenty of cabin space for a subcompact. While the cloth upholstery is smooth to the touch, you may opt for fine leather. The cabin seats five, with two LATCH car seat connection sets in the back row. Behind the seating, the cargo area offers 18.8 cubic feet of storage space. If you fold the rear seats, you may utilize up to 48.4 cubic feet.
Buick’s lineup is known for their luxe-level interiors, and with its diverse selection of amenities, the Encore is no different. Available technology features include Wi-Fi hotspot, Bose sound, USB ports, a moonroof, navigation, satellite radio, and more. Drivers have two engine options with the 2017 Encore. The base engine is a 138-horsepower 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, while Buick also offers a 153-horsepower option. Both engines are paired with a seamless six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is also available for enhanced performance. With any configuration, you can expect fantastic gas mileage for the already-conservative class. Handling is on the sporty side without sacrificing comfort or stability. Its modest frame and exceptionally sharp turning radius grant you access to even the tightest parking spaces.
